Il travail dans un commerce de proximité lorsqu'un jour, il aide un vieil homme, <strong>Tsutai Yuzo</strong>, à voler la caisse du magasin. Hikoichi est alors arrêté. Un an plus tard, il retrouve le vieil homme en prison et celui-ci lui conseille d'aller voir <strong>Asahina</strong>, en cas de problèmes.
